George Pringle Elementary School - École Élémentaire George Pringle is a dual track English and French Immersion school with Kindergarten to Grade 6 classes.  George Pringle is located in the heart of Westbank, B.C., very near Highway 97, close to businesses and churches, and adjacent to the Westbank Town Centre Shopping Area.
The French Immersion catchment area is from Peachland to Trader’s Cove on the Westside of Okanagan Lake near Kelowna B.C.  The student population on March 30, 2010 contained 225 French Immersion Students and 207 English students, for a total of 432 students.

The school is in its seventh year of existence and occupies a former secondary school campus.

The school also is home to the Westside Education Support Services Team, Le Petit Hibou Preschool, StrongStart Program and the High Five Westside Literacy Intervention Team.  The facility features a Music room, Theatre, Multi-Purpose room and Secondary sized Gymnasium.

The school is working on the following School Planning Council goals:
  • To Improve Student Achievement in Literacy
  • To improve the oral and written communication skills of our students
  • To continue to develop students' ability to read, respond and analyze what they have read
The school has adopted many creative strategies to help students reach their academic potential.  Intermediate platooning to reduce class size in core academic areas, the grade three "Kid Lit" reading project, and the implementation of 6+1 writing traits (K-6) are just a few examples of this.
